Dangerous “Moryanka”: the prosecutor’s office in Kirov uncovered violations on the riverboat.
The Kirov Transport Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection aboard the motor ship “Moryanka” in the Vyatka District of Waterways and Navigation, the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported. The inspection revealed several serious violations.
The vessel lacked sufficient life jackets, the passenger and crew alert system was not working, and fire safety regulations were not being observed. These violations could have endangered the lives and health of the vessel’s crew and passengers.
The prosecutor issued a formal notice to the branch director, and at the prosecutor’s request all violations were corrected. In addition, at the initiative of the prosecutor’s office the branch director was held administratively liable under Part 1 of Article 14.43 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of technical regulations) and fined 20,000 rubles.
