Kindergartners in Lyangasovo are being evicted.

Last week the parents of the pupils, as well as the staff of Kindergarten No. 180 (building 2), were presented with a fait accompli: pack up and "move" to another kindergarten. The same premises will be occupied by primary school pupils from School No. 73, where major repairs will be carried out due to the severe wear and tear of the building.

Children from building No. 2 of Kindergarten No. 180 (about 50 children) were transferred to other kindergartens, including to building No. 1 of Kindergarten No. 180 on Gorky Street. Parents and kindergarten staff were promised that these inconveniences would last only a few months. But parents and teachers fear they will not be able to return: the issue of closing the second building of Kindergarten No. 180 on Oktyabrskaya Street has been raised before.

Parents of the preschoolers told activists that they repaired the playground equipment at their own expense, spending more than 30,000 rubles. Parents also worry about the fate of the teachers: before the move, staff were offered to submit resignation letters or take unpaid leave, ONF activists reported. As teachers noted, many were shocked by such an offer. For example, Larisa Chepaikina has been working with children for more than 20 years. She has ten months left until retirement and does not want to lose her beloved job. Another teacher, Elena Shilyaeva, has worked at the kindergarten for 30 years. Next year she will be graduating her group, and she very much wants to see the children—who have become almost like family over the years—through to their graduation.

"The Department of Education assured us that building No. 2 of Kindergarten No. 180 is not planned to be closed. After the school's repairs the little ones will return. Teacher assistants and support staff will continue to work in the other building during the repairs. We will monitor the fulfillment of these promises," the ONF regional office said.
