Today, November 19, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Kirov pronounced sentence on lawyer Anton Dolgikh. The defendant, accused of abuse of official powers, instigation, and petty bribery, received a punishment, but ultimately was released from custody right in the courtroom. According to the court's decision: under Article 285 Part 1 in conjunction with Article 33 Part 5 — sentenced to 1 year and 6 months' imprisonment in a colony-settlement; under Article 291.2 Part 1 — a fine of 50,000 rubles, from which Dolgikh was exempted due to the statute of limitations having expired. The court credited the nine months Dolgikh spent in pretrial detention (SIZO), where one day is counted as two, and ruled to find him guilty and release him in the courtroom.
