On August 16, a 57-year-old cleaner of the administrative and production premises of KOGPOBU "Kirov Forest Industry College" stood on a swivel chair while washing windows, lost her balance, fell and suffered multiple fractures. According to the medical report, the injuries sustained are classified as severe.
The causes of the accident were deficiencies in the organization and conduct of occupational safety training for employees, as well as shortcomings in the presentation of safety requirements in the occupational safety instructions.
Deputy head of the State Labor Inspectorate A. D. Loginov added that the investigation also revealed the following violations: failure to conduct mandatory medical examinations; incomplete provision of personal protective equipment; and failure to inform the employee of the results of the special assessment of working conditions.
These violations are not the causes of the incident, but indicate the employer's failure to comply with state regulatory occupational safety requirements. The legal entity and the responsible official were held administratively liable and fined more than 100,000 rubles in accordance with Article 5.27.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
