Public hearings on the draft city budget were held in Kirov.

      More than 300 people took part in the hearings — representatives of the administration, deputies, heads of municipal enterprises and city residents. Thus, according to the city head Elena Kovaleva, all proposals and comments received from residents will be sent to the Kirov City Duma for further discussion. It is the deputies who will determine the development priorities for the regional center for the next three years.

      At the meeting, department representatives presented three reports — on the forecast of socio-economic development, the management of municipal property, and the main budget parameters.

      Key budget figures:

      revenues — 14.2 billion rubles

      expenditures — 14.4 billion rubles

      increase in own revenues — 1.5 billion rubles.

      As noted by the finance department, the draft budget is traditionally socially oriented: 58% of expenditures will be allocated to education, social support and payments to public sector employees.

      By the way, more than 7.5 billion rubles are earmarked for education, including:

      650 million rubles — for major repairs of schools and kindergartens

      1.1 billion rubles — for the construction of three new kindergartens (on Torfyanaya Street, Kapitana Dorofeyeva Street and in the ZNAK residential complex).

      The deputies’ initiative to pave the grounds of educational institutions will also continue: over three years it is planned to upgrade 70 schools and kindergartens. The city will also continue to support civic initiatives: in 2026 the projects “City of Good Neighbors”, “PPMI-2026” and “People’s Budget” will continue.
