Almost half of Kirov residents want a four-day workweek.
Almost half of employed residents of Kirov — 48% — support the idea of switching to a four-day workweek. Twenty-three percent of respondents are opposed. Women are more supportive of the initiative than men: 51% of women said they were in favor, while 45% of men expressed support.
The greatest enthusiasm is among young people. Among Kirov residents under 35, 60% of respondents approve of the idea. In the 35–45 age group support falls to 49%, and among those aged 45 and over it drops to 35%.
Interest in a four-day week decreases as incomes rise. While 54% of workers earning up to 80,000 rubles support it, only 41% of those earning more than 150,000 do.
At the same time employers are not ready to switch to a shortened workweek. According to the survey, 80% of companies do not even discuss such an option. Only 3% consider a four-day schedule acceptable, and another 4% consider it unacceptable.
