On December 26, the Ded Moroz Train will arrive in Kirov.

      In a few days, on November 19, the journey of the Ded Moroz Train will begin. As reported on the official public page, the train will depart from Vladivostok and travel more than 20,000 km, visiting 70 cities with large and small programs. The Ded Moroz Train will arrive in Kirov on December 26. The next day it will depart for Nizhny Novgorod.

      As a reminder, the Ded Moroz Train first set off on December 5, 2021. Over four years it visited 302 cities, covered more than 108,000 kilometers and spent 244 days on the road. Nearly 2 million people came to the stations to meet Ded Moroz.

      It should be noted that last year a P-36 steam locomotive — the most reliable, powerful and fastest passenger steam locomotive in the country — was chosen for the Ded Moroz Train. The locomotive was decorated with string lights to create a magical atmosphere. The train is a festively decorated mobile residence. It includes the main wizard’s "Reception Car," the "Fairy Village" car, where games and quests will be held, a "Stage Car" and a "Puppet Theatre Car" for performances, a "Shop Car" where souvenirs will be sold, a "Buffet Car" and a "Restaurant Car."

      To its domain — Veliky Ustyug — the Ded Moroz Train, together with the chief winter wizard, will return on January 11, 2026. Next week Kirov will begin decorating its streets for the New Year. New Year’s decorations: ornaments will sparkle near Lenin, and a bird will be placed on the fountain. Kirov has allocated 8.9 million for New Year’s decorations.
