A concession agreement will be concluded in Slobodskoy to convert the boiler houses to gas.

Today at a government meeting the development of Slobodskoy was discussed. In particular, attention was paid to the recently renovated — or rather, rebuilt almost from scratch — Ekaterininskaya Street. There is now a modern asphalt road there; only the sidewalks remain to be built.

Work is also underway in the city to conclude a concession agreement to convert the local boiler houses, which currently run on fuel oil and coal, to gas. According to the head of Slobodskoy, Irina Zhelvakova, investors initially refused to take on the project, but when budget financing became available they began to consider participating. So far one bid has been submitted; there may be more. It should be noted that the project involves 2.5 billion rubles, of which 1 billion rubles will be provided by the region. The term is 3–4 years. Governor Alexander Sokolov expressed the opinion that after the work is completed heating bills in Slobodskoy will be on par with those in other cities in the agglomeration.

Sokolov also instructed his subordinates to consider how the wooden Church of St. Tryphon could be restored. He received the corresponding request from local residents.
