Services will store user data for three years.

      The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, RIA Novosti reports. It concerns data related to the transmission and processing of communications, including texts, voice data, images, videos and other electronic forms of information, as well as information about the users themselves. According to the document, services will be required to provide this data at the request of authorized state bodies engaged in operational-search activities or in ensuring the country’s security. The decree will come into force on January 1, 2026.
