The press service of the government of the Kirov Region reported that road services have completed preparations for the winter season. Different contracting organizations will be responsible for cleanliness and safety on regional, local and federal roads.
The regional enterprise JSC Vyatavtodor will operate on regional roads totaling more than 2,600 kilometers, as well as on local and federal sections in three districts of the region. The company is now finishing the winter conversion of its equipment. In total, 582 vehicles will be readied for operation, 50 of them new.
On federal highways, clearing will be carried out by contractors Stroitelnoe Upravlenie 43 and PO RosDorStroy. They have 147 pieces of equipment at their disposal.
In Kirov, six contracting organizations are responsible for street cleaning; their fleets include 236 snow-removal machines. An additional 175 workers will be deployed to clean stairs, bus stops, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.
To monitor road conditions, 19 comprehensive road-control posts and 7 surveillance cameras have been installed on federal roads. Eight meteorological stations operate on regional roads to track weather conditions and help plan the clearing.
It should be recalled that, according to meteorologists' forecasts, an Arctic outbreak is expected in the Kirov Region on November 13–14. Air temperatures may fall to -20 degrees Celsius.
