Scammers have begun posing as Liza Alert volunteers.
The Liza Alert search team warned residents of the Kirov Region about cases in which scammers pose as volunteers. Scammers purchase clothing with the team's insignia and use it to deceive people.
The team reminded that training and all other events are free of charge. Volunteers do not collect money and do not ask for donations. Any requests for financial assistance on behalf of the searchers are a sign of fraud.
If you encounter people who pose as searchers, report it to the Liza Alert hotline at 8 (800) 700-54-52 or write to the team's group. A woman from Kirov transferred nearly 7 million rubles to scammers after being frightened by accusations of terrorism. "Data digitization" resulted in a Kirov woman losing 1.3 million rubles. A Kirov man was scammed while buying an outboard motor online.
