A bill to ban the sale of vapes is being prepared in the region.
Work continues in the Legislative Assembly on a draft federal law that provides for a complete ban on the sale of vapes. The initiative was discussed at a meeting on November 5. After revision, the bill is planned to be submitted to the State Duma for consideration.
Currently, regions do not have the authority to independently introduce such restrictions, so deputies proposed to resolve the issue at the national level. The bill is aimed at banning the wholesale and retail sale of electronic cigarettes, as well as liquids and components for them, regardless of nicotine content.
Health Minister Ekaterina Vidyakina noted that using vapes poses a serious danger to the body due to chemical and thermal effects. Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Denis Pestrikov emphasized that the ban will not have a negative impact on the region’s economy, but will help combat the sale of such devices to children.
The initiative was also supported by deputies. In their view, restricting the sale of vapes will be an important step in protecting the health of the younger generation and will help prevent the development of harmful habits among adolescents.
