Fifteen new buses went into service in Kirov.

Today at Theatre Square drivers were handed the keys to 15 buses, which were immediately put into service. In total, the first batch comprises 50 buses. Another 35 are being prepared to enter service: paperwork is being processed and technical inspections carried out, the city administration’s press service reports.

The new buses are large-class vehicles with a capacity of 96 passengers. They run on natural gas and are equipped with the ERA-GLONASS emergency call system, automatic fire suppression, video surveillance, air conditioning and vandal-resistant seats. Media panels and an electronic passenger information system have also been installed in the interior.

The new vehicles will be sent primarily to routes where the fleet is most worn out and that receive the most complaints from residents. This will reduce the number of breakdowns and cases of buses not operating on their routes.

By the end of the year Kirov will receive another 70 buses, bringing the total number of new vehicles on the city’s streets to 120. The buses will operate on routes No. 1, 3, 5, 21, 23, 39 and 54.
