In Kirov, court bailiffs handed two children over to child welfare authorities.

In Kirov, officers of the Federal Bailiff Service handed two underage children over to the guardianship authorities. The enforcement document for the transfer was sent to Enforcement Division No. 2 for the Leninsky District of the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia for the Kirov Region.

According to the agency, the mother of the 12- and 16-year-old boys led an asocial lifestyle and had been repeatedly warned about her responsibility for failing to properly care for the children. The family lived in unfavorable conditions — without basic care and attention to the children, who were not receiving a proper education. One of the brothers had previously been placed under guardianship.

After a subsequent inspection, the Juvenile Affairs Commission applied to the court with a petition to terminate the woman’s parental rights. The court agreed with the commission’s arguments and ordered that the children be placed under guardianship.

Immediately after the decision came into force, bailiffs, together with representatives of the guardianship authorities, went to the family’s residence. During the enforcement actions the children were handed over to a representative of the guardianship authorities. The parents now have six months to change their lifestyle, create normal living conditions and apply to the court to have their parental rights restored. If they do not, the children will remain in the care of the state.
