The regional branch of the Fund noted that the provision of specialized televisions is carried out as part of the implementation of individual rehabilitation and habilitation programs developed by medical and social expertise institutions. The recipients of such programs are citizens with hearing disabilities for whom this technical rehabilitation aid has been recommended by specialists.
“Our task is to guarantee equal opportunities for all residents of the region, regardless of their physical characteristics. Providing specialized televisions is not just technical assistance; it is a step toward the full integration of people with hearing impairments into the information space, enabling them to stay informed, receive up-to-date news, and enjoy cultural programs,” said the Manager of the Social Fund Branch for Kirov Region, Nikolay Pasynkov.
The diagonal of such televisions is about 80 cm (32 inches), and the teletext can store up to 10 pages of text simultaneously.
It should be noted that the total cost of purchasing 300 televisions this year amounted to approximately 3.5 million rubles.
