The Investigative Committee reminded teenagers of the penalties for selling drugs.

The Investigative Committee reported that drug addiction remains one of the most dangerous social problems. The use of narcotic and toxic substances leads to moral degradation, destroys health and can result in death. At the same time, drug distribution is increasingly carried out in a contactless manner — using messaging apps and social networks. The internet is also used to recruit new participants into criminal schemes.

Teenagers, seeking "easy" money, agree to carry out assignments for drug dealers and become implicated in criminal cases. The agency reminded that such crimes are classified as serious and especially serious. Thus, under Part 1 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (drug distribution), the punishment is 4 to 8 years' imprisonment; under Part 3 — 8 to 15 years; and under Part 4 — 10 to 20 years.

The Investigative Committee emphasized that combating drug crime requires a comprehensive approach — from both law enforcement agencies and society. Special attention should be paid to prevention, early detection of addiction and to fostering in adolescents a strong aversion to drugs.

The agency also reminded that parents play an important role in protecting children from drugs — conversations about their dangers should be part of parenting.

By court decision, the parcel of land on the Osetrovka River, illegally withdrawn from the forest fund almost 30 years ago, has been returned to federal ownership. The Kirov Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection of the legality of the disposal of a forested land plot located near the Osetrovka River in Belokholunitsky District.
As established, in 1996, during the transfer of assets of the former kolkhoz enterprise, a plot of more than 30 hectares was unlawfully removed from the forest fund lands and state ownership. Later the area came into the possession of a peasant farm, which received it for the restoration of a water body — a pond by the river. However, those works were never carried out.
The prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit to reclaim the plot from unlawful possession. The court granted the supervisory authority’s claims in full.
