Anton Dolgikh was granted the right to appeal the preventive measure in the Supreme Court.
According to information voiced by his wife, Tatyana Makarova, in Anton Dolgikh’s official Telegram chat, the lawyer obtained the opportunity to appeal the refusal to change the measure of restraint in the Supreme Court.
At the hearing in the Sixth Cassation Court of General Jurisdiction in Samara, Anton was denied a change to his measure of restraint, and the judge orally stated that the ruling was not subject to independent appeal.
However, the written decision indicated that the ruling insofar as the measure of restraint is concerned may be appealed to the Supreme Court, which gives Dolgikh a chance to have the decision reviewed by the highest judicial instance.
Recall that yesterday, October 24, a hearing in Dolgikh’s case also took place. He again alleged violations of his rights by an escorting officer, noting physical pain and concerns for his safety, and again petitioned to have the measure of restraint replaced with house arrest; however, the court denied his request.
