The 81st humanitarian convoy for participants in the special military operation was sent from Kirov.
On the morning of October 23, a ceremonial send-off of the 81st humanitarian convoy to the zone of the special military operation took place on the premises of the charitable foundation Za Vyatka. The convoy was formed jointly by the Za Vyatka foundation, the Kirov regional branch of the Union of Russian Paratroopers and the charitable foundation Sila Zhizni.
The convoy consisted of nine vehicles which, according to the organizers, were literally assembled from parts and restored by the foundation and the paratroopers. The vehicles were loaded with everything necessary for the fighters: generators, camouflage nets, quadcopters, drone detectors, food, hygiene supplies, socks, T‑shirts and other essentials.
The shipment of humanitarian cargo, organizers emphasized, was the result of joint work by various ministries, agencies and public associations. Vice‑Governor Andrey Luchinin thanked everyone taking part in such actions: “I am proud that this work has not been scaled back. You are doing a great job, each in your place. Victory will be achieved only this way.”
The head of the Kirov administration, Vyacheslav Simakov, noted that “true patriots of their country” had gathered here, and the foundation’s director, Sergey Krutikov, wished the convoy participants a safe journey and stressed that the joint work shows “we are all together, and that is great.”
A member of the board of the Union of Russian Paratroopers and deputy of the Kirov City Duma, Oleg Shvetsov, called the column “a mission of mercy and goodness”: “We know well why we are going to where they are fulfilling their military duty. We want to tell our warriors: you are not alone, the whole people are with you.”
Before the departure a prayer service was held, led by the rector of the Church of the Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, head of the military department of the Vyatka Diocese, priest Alexander Kossov.
The column will head toward the Luhansk and Donetsk directions — aid will be delivered to paratroopers, air defense personnel, reconnaissance units, assault units and other formations.
According to the Za Vyatka foundation, since the organization began operating more than 80 large convoys have already been sent to the special military operation zone. In the past week alone volunteers manufactured and handed over 170 camouflage nets with a total area of more than four thousand square meters, and over the course of its work — more than 198,000 nets, hundreds of stretchers, charging stations and vehicles.
