Bastrykin sent Moscow investigators to the school in Lyangasovo.
As reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia, during an operational meeting Bastrykin heard a report on the investigation of a criminal case concerning the improper maintenance of the building of an educational institution. Local residents repeatedly appealed to various authorities, but repair work was never organized.
The head of the agency inquired about the specialists' conclusions regarding the possibility of continued use of the school and noted that the region's investigative authorities failed to take timely measures to prevent possible accidents. He instructed forensic experts to immediately travel to the Kirov Region to conduct an objective inspection of the condition of the building.
Recall that a criminal case on the charge of negligence (Part 1 of Article 293 of the Russian Criminal Code) was opened in September 2025. According to the investigation, an inspection of the building conducted in the spring revealed serious damage that could pose a danger to students. Despite this, officials of the local administration did not take measures to eliminate the violations.
The progress of the criminal investigation is being monitored by the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
