      Evgeny Masharov, a member of the Civic Chamber, proposed creating a protective barrier for teenagers who currently have unhindered access to content containing profanity, scenes of violence, and deviant behavior. In his view, digital identification would become an effective tool for the psychological protection of minors.

      Artem Geller, a developer of the Kremlin.ru website, reacted to the initiative with sharp criticism. "Global experience shows that such measures only provoke a wave of ridicule, technical failures, and create risks of large-scale leaks of personal data," the portal udm-info.ru quotes the expert as saying.

      Geller drew attention to a key problem: a significant portion of the content that people are trying to shield children from has a semi-legal status. "It is practically impossible to force the administrators of such resources to comply with state requirements," the developer emphasized.

      The discussion is unfolding against the backdrop of a worldwide trend toward tightening control in the digital space. However, as the experience of European countries shows, technical solutions often prove ineffective against teenagers' ingenuity and create new threats to users' privacy.

A system of strict verification for access to "adult" content may be introduced on the Russian internet. The initiative, being discussed in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, would require mandatory identification of users using passport data, driver's licenses, or bank details to view materials labeled 18+.
