According to the prosecutor’s office, from December 2024 to February 2025 the man, despite a court order and being able to work, willfully failed to pay child support. During that time his debt to the children exceeded 1 million rubles. The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 157 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to pay funds for the maintenance of minor children). Taking into account prior convictions, the convicted man was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment to be served in a general-regime penal colony. The man will be sent there under escort.
