Food production has increased in Kirov Oblast.
In the Kirov Region, based on January–August 2025 results, the volume of food production increased by almost 15% compared with the same period last year, reaching 51.3 billion rubles, Kirovstat reported.
The main contributors to the growth were meat processing enterprises (29.6% of the total), dairy producers (28.2%) and bakery product manufacturers (25.7%).
According to statisticians, regional enterprises significantly increased output of certain products. Production of canned fruit and vegetables rose by 30.3%, cocoa and chocolate products by 10%, cheese by 9.5%, milk by 7.2%, and poultry meat products by 3%.
As of October 1, 304 legal entities and 192 individual entrepreneurs operating in the food industry were registered in the Kirov Region. This sector accounts for about 12% of the regional economy. It should be added that today, October 19, Russia is celebrating Food Industry Workers’ Day.
