Scammers defrauded a woman from Kirov of nearly 2 million rubles.

      According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kirov Region, a woman received a message in one of the messaging apps from an unknown person who introduced himself as an employee of a government agency and promised a reward. To sign up for the payment queue, the woman gave the SMS code. After that the scammer stopped responding.

      Later she received calls allegedly from Roskomnadzor and the FSB informing her that her Gosuslugi account had been hacked and that money was being transferred to Ukraine in her name. To "save" the funds, she was asked to transfer the money to a "safe" account. Believing them, the Kirov resident transferred 1,842,000 rubles. Later she tried to transfer another 143,000 rubles, but the bank declined the transaction.

      Realizing she had been deceived, the victim contacted the police. A criminal case has already been opened in connection with the crime.
