A 15-year-old who was beaten by a schoolboy will be paid 20,000 rubles.
On February 28 of this year, a conflict occurred between adolescents at an educational school in the town of Luza, during which one of the boys beat a 15‑year‑old victim. His actions were classified under Article 6.1.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (battery). However, the adolescent was exempted from administrative liability because at the time of the offense he had not reached the statutory age.
The injured party, being a minor, cannot fully protect his rights and interests in civil proceedings, therefore the prosecutor filed a claim in court to recover from the offender compensation for moral damage. The prosecutor's claims were recognized as lawful and well-founded, and the schoolboy was ordered to pay the victim monetary compensation for the moral damage caused in the amount of 20,000 rubles. The prosecutor's office is supervising enforcement of the court decision. If the minor defendant has no income or assets, recovery will be enforced against the income or property of his legal representatives.
