An apartment fire in Kirovo-Chepetsk was caused by the neighbors' renovation work.

      As we wrote earlier, yesterday an apartment on Mira Street in Kirovo-Chepetsk caught fire. The fire affected an area of 23 square meters. Fifteen employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were at the scene.

      The agency recently reported that its personnel, using breathing apparatuses, quickly extinguished the fire and checked all the rooms. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The apartment’s owner left on her own. Five residents were also evacuated.

      The fire started because the neighbors one floor up were repairing a heating pipe, and sparks from welding passed through a service opening onto a stretch ceiling. The extent of the damage is currently being determined, and an assessment is being made of the actions of the workers who carried out the repairs.
