Electricity rates will rise in 2026.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has prepared a draft order to set electricity tariffs for households for 2026. According to the document, from October 1 next year the charge for electricity in most regions of the country will rise by roughly 11%. This was reported by RBC.
For most regions the range of increase will be 10.8–10.9%. The exception is the new regions, where the increase may reach 50%. However, even after that tariffs in the DPR and LPR will remain among the lowest in Russia — about 2.8 rubles per kWh.
The cheapest tariffs will remain in the Irkutsk Region — less than 2 rubles per kWh, as well as in Khakassia, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts (about 3.6–3.7 rubles per kWh). The highest electricity prices are expected in Chukotka (12.6 rubles), in the Moscow Region (9.1 rubles) and in Moscow (8.7 rubles per kWh).
The FAS noted that the tariff change is in line with the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development and that support measures for citizens will continue to be in effect — including subsidies for utility bills if a family's expenses exceed 22% of income. The draft is currently undergoing an independent anti-corruption review.
