The government of Kirov Oblast earlier posted on the state procurement portal a tender to purchase 13 cars manufactured in Russia. As stated in the auction documents, the cars are needed to meet the government's needs in the region. It is worth recalling that in August this year the regional government reported that its vehicle fleet was heavily worn.
At that time the average mileage of the government's fleet stood at 254,000 kilometers. In addition, the demand on transport increased — government officials regularly traveled to the zone of the special military operation, delivered humanitarian aid, and went to sponsored territories to organize restoration work.
The head of the administration of the governor and government of Kirov Oblast, Alexey Komarov, then noted that the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade had identified a list of cars that may be purchased for the vehicle fleet of government bodies. “These are cars that are assembled and produced on Russian territory. It is from this list that vehicles will be purchased for the region's needs,” Komarov said.
The purchaser was the Kirov regional state budgetary institution “Motor Pool of the Government of Kirov Oblast.” The starting price of the contract was 39,999,999 rubles; however, the Moscow company “Rolf,” which won the tender, cut the price by one million rubles, resulting in the contract price being reduced to 38,999,999 rubles.
As a result, the regional government purchased 13 Haval vehicles, each costing 2,999,000 rubles. It is worth noting that Haval is a Chinese car brand, but such cars are also produced in Russia, specifically in Tula Oblast. It is likely that members of the regional government will be driving cars manufactured there.
According to the procurement documents, the cars purchased by the regional government have leather interiors (artificial leather), all-wheel drive, engine power ranging from 150 to 200 horsepower, rear power windows, climate control, and heated front seats.
