A fire broke out in a private house on Yunosti Street, claiming the lives of a 39-year-old man and his young son, who was only 8 years old. According to the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Kirov Region, the fire was reported overnight on October 1. Fifteen people and four units of equipment from EMERCOM and the volunteer fire brigade were sent to the scene. By the time the first units arrived, the house and outbuildings were already ablaze. Other family members managed to evacuate on their own. As a result of the fire, the fence, the roof and the house’s ceiling structures, and two passenger cars — a Lada Kalina and a Renault Sandero — were completely burned. The building’s walls were burned out inside and out across the entire area. The fire affected an area of 108 m². The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov Region has opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — causing death by negligence to two or more persons. Investigators have ordered forensic examinations and continue to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.
