Ninth-graders will receive free training in vocational trades.

With the adoption of this bill, amendments will be made to the Federal Law "On Education in the Russian Federation." According to the document, students who received unsatisfactory results on the State Final Assessment for basic general education programs will be able to undergo vocational training free of charge under professional training programs for worker occupations and employee positions. As reported on the State Duma website, the list of such professions and positions, as well as the educational organizations where training can be undertaken, will be determined by regional authorities. The subjects of the Russian Federation will also have the right to provide state support for such training. Alongside learning a profession, students will be able to attend classes and prepare to retake the State Final Assessment (GIA). After successfully passing all exams, students will receive a certificate of education and a certificate of qualification. If this bill is finally adopted, it will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
