A 50-year-old resident of Sovetsk is accused of running over a police officer.

      The Sovetsky division of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Kirov Oblast referred the criminal case of a local resident to court. He is charged with using violence against a police officer.

      According to the investigation, on the afternoon of July 2, at the 133rd kilometer of the Kirov–Sovetsk–Yaransk highway, police stopped the man's car. They had reason to believe that he had acquired illegal substances for his own use.

      The man attempted to flee and struck a police officer, who ended up on the hood. The driver continued driving; the police officer could not hold on and fell onto the road. As a result, he sustained injuries.
