In Kirov, plaster fell on a man in a condemned building on Zakhvataeva Street.
According to witnesses, Alexander Loskutov was lying on the couch when part of the ceiling collapsed next to him. Another incident occurred in the apartment above — the attic floor/ceiling collapsed. A TV, a refrigerator and the owner's personal belongings were trapped under the rubble. Now, through a hole in the ceiling, the attic and the rotted roof are visible.
More than 30 people live in the building, which has been declared unsafe: families with children, elderly people, including a child with a disability. Resettlement is planned only in four years. However, residents say the building already poses a threat to life.
Due to the destruction, the building has no thermal envelope: in winter heat will leak outside and mold will appear in the apartments. The condition of the electrical wiring creates additional risks — signs of melting are visible on the electrical panel.
Residents have contacted the management company several times, but received no response. City authorities offered relocation to the temporary housing stock in Komintern and Novovyatsk, but families refuse to leave the city center where they work and their children study.
The People's Front said that despite the building's emergency status, it must be maintained until resettlement. "The management company must address the fire safety issues and restore the thermal envelope. A complaint has been filed with the prosecutor's office over its inaction," emphasized ONF expert Dmitry Sergeev.
