In Orlovo, 36,000 sterlet fry were released as part of the national project "Environmental Well-Being", the press service of the government of the Kirov Region reported.

The fish were transported from Chelyabinsk Oblast in special containers. The release was supervised by specialists from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Kirov Region and the Kirov branch of the fisheries protection service.
Such releases are carried out as part of compensatory measures. The fry are released by companies that previously caused environmental damage through their activities, for example during mineral extraction.
