A criminal case has been opened in Kirov over the unsafe condition of a school in Lyangasovo.
As reported by the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee, as early as April 2025 specialists conducted an inspection of the building and identified damage that had formed due to prolonged use without major repairs. These defects may pose a danger to students. Despite this, officials of the local administration have so far not taken measures to remedy the violations.
Investigators are already carrying out a set of investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of what happened. The course of the investigation is under the control of the acting head of the investigative department.
It should be recalled that earlier the Investigative Committee reported that it had launched a check based on information from social media about the partial collapse of the school's brick masonry. It was then noted that the building was not included in the major repair program.
