80% of Russian game studios use AI in development.

      Izvestia, citing a study by the Institute for the Development of the Internet (IRI), the APRIORI Association and the Skolkovo Foundation, reports that AI is most often used for writing code (47.8%), image processing (40.4%), as well as generating scripts (28.7%) and dialogues (27.9%).

      The main barriers for the industry remain difficulties with promotion (66.9%), financial constraints (65.4%), technological dependence on foreign services (62.5%) and a shortage of personnel (36.8%).

      "The integration of AI has become a widespread practice and helps developers automate routine tasks, focus on creativity and speed up game releases," said APRIORI CEO Alexander Mikheev.

      About 140 studio representatives and indie developers from 39 regions of Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk, took part in the survey.
