The parents of the sick child are asking for additional buses to be run to Metrograd.

More than 7,000 people live in Metrograd, but there are no social facilities there. A local resident, the mother of an 8-year-old child with Perthes disease, said that every trip to the doctor turns into an ordeal. On foot she has to walk almost a kilometer to the stop on Upita Street, and then travel across the whole city. For a child who cannot move independently this is impossible, and the family has to call a taxi. A one-way trip to the clinic costs about 700 rubles.

It’s not only families with small children who are experiencing problems. Schoolchildren from Metrograd attend School No. 42, travel to music lessons on Koltsova Street or to sports clubs at the Palace of Martial Arts on Mira Street, as well as to other districts. But there is no convenient transport to those places either.

Residents of Metrograd appealed to the People’s Front to increase the number of trips of bus No. 23. The city authorities promise to add trips at 15:00 and 18:45, and to study demand. However, as Valeria Cheremisinova, head of the regional branch of the People’s Front, noted, this may not be enough.

The People’s Front is currently conducting a survey on its social media to find out how much demand there is for the route and to pass the results to the administration.

Bus No. 23 now serves the area only twice a day, making it difficult for people to get to the clinic, schools, and clubs.
