Kirov zoomers are back from vacation: they're looking for jobs paying 50,000 rubles, while in Moscow they ask for almost twice as much.

      At the beginning of autumn young people actively returned to job hunting. According to hh.ru, in just the first weeks of September Gen Z candidates posted almost 150,000 resumes — nearly half of the August volume, when their number exceeded 303,000 (up 11% year-on-year).

      The greatest activity is traditionally concentrated in the largest metropolises. Moscow accounted for 35% of Gen Z resumes, St. Petersburg 15%, followed by the Moscow Region (7%) and Krasnodar Krai (6%). Sverdlovsk Oblast and Tatarstan account for 5% each.

      Popular professions

      Young job seekers most often choose entry-level positions that provide quick employment. At the top are sales and client-relations managers (8%), as well as IT specialists: administrators and developers (4% each). In addition, packers and order pickers, call center operators, waiters, bartenders, designers and teachers are in demand.

      Salary expectations

      On average Gen Z expects 69,700 rubles per month. In Moscow the median reaches 95,600 rubles; in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YNAO) and the Moscow Region — about 80,000 rubles. The most modest expectations are among young specialists from Kirov, Mari El, Mordovia, Orenburg and Saratov regions: roughly 50,000 rubles.

      The most "expensive" specialists

      Among young people the highest salary expectations are for DevOps engineers — 145,000 rubles; foremen and construction supervisors (construction and installation works) — 126,400 rubles; and strategic consultants — 122,000 rubles. Analysts, product managers and engineers also rate themselves highly.
