
Olimpia won its first home match.
Its opponent was Tula’s AKM, which is part of the B. P. Mikhailov Hockey Academy.
The game caused a noticeable stir in the city – more than 1,700 spectators filled the stands of the Olimp Arena. They saw a match with a large number of shots (over a hundred between the two teams), but not particularly high-scoring.
The visitors opened the scoring, converting a power play in the 36th minute. Olimpiya equalized a minute and a half before the final siren.
Overtime ended goalless, and everything was decided in a shootout. AKM’s players converted only one attempt, while Olimpiya converted two, securing a hard-fought victory.
Olimpiya will play its next match on Wednesday. The opponent is Ryazan-VDV.
