Fountain opening: a dirty pond, trash and chaos

      Today at 7:00 PM in Kirov the opening of the new fountain was supposed to take place. Our correspondent reported that a huge number of people had gathered near the circus: "People as far as the eye can see — wherever you look, everyone is chattering in anticipation." At the same time, many were not behaving particularly well. "People are making a scene, climbing onto lighting structures and railings," the reporter said. "Police officers' shouts of 'Young people!' can be heard from everywhere. The crowd reacts strongly to any changes."

      At 7 o'clock, ordinary music was played instead of performances. While waiting for the artists, guests tried to take good viewing spots. Many of them stood right on the lawns.

      While everyone waited for the start, people slowly looked around. However, the surrounding area was not very pleasing — the pond was dirty, as can be seen in the photo. "Even the ducks are in shock," our correspondent commented. The Ferris wheel is working, but its lighting is, for some reason, off. In addition, even before the celebration began, there was trash scattered around.

      Not long ago the concert program finally began. A female violinist performed first.
