In Kirov Oblast, more than 350 pensioners have acquired financial and digital literacy.

Another stage of a project to improve the financial and digital literacy of pensioners has been completed in the Kirov region. It involved 372 people of the "silver" age. Training took place in Senior Social Centers organized with the support of the Regional Branch of the Social Fund.

The program included seminars, interactive sessions and master classes. Pensioners were taught to manage personal finances, recognize fraudulent schemes, use electronic services safely and protect personal data online. In addition, participants learned to work with computers and smartphones and gained access to government services electronically.

In different districts of the region the classes had their own specifics. Thus, in Orlov pensioners practiced making doctor's appointments and ordering certificates through the Gosuslugi portal; in Sanchursk they studied methods for recognizing telephone scammers; and in the Bogorodsky district they learned to work with email.

According to Nikolai Pasyankov, manager of the Regional Branch of the Social Fund for the Kirov Region, the number of pensioners actively using the Gosuslugi portal increased by 30% after the training. "Digital literacy today is not just a desirable skill, but a necessity," he noted.

The Social Fund plans to continue and expand the program: increase the number of Senior Social Centers and develop new educational courses.

"To be honest, I used to be terrified of all those gadgets. But now I pay my bills myself, I message friends on 'Odnoklassniki' and even post my recipes online!" shared 77-year-old Lyudmila Polivaeva, who completed the training in the Luzsky district.
