A resident of Tuzha set a man's car on fire in revenge.
On September 13 at around 5:00 a.m., the duty unit of the Tuzhinskoye police station of the Yaransky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia received a report of a car on fire. A resident of the settlement of Tuzha was in his kitchen when he saw through the window his family's VAZ-21099 ablaze. The owner managed to beat back the flames and extinguish the fire.
Police officers arrived at the scene. They found signs of arson — an unknown person had used a flammable liquid to start the fire. Subsequently, they were able to identify a local resident who had had a conflict with the victim the previous day in a bar. During questioning the man confessed to committing the unlawful actions. Physical evidence was seized.
A fire-technical examination is currently underway. Based on its results, the investigator will decide whether to open a criminal case.
