Today at half past four the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in a five-story building on Pushkin Street in Novovyatsk. Sixteen employees of the Ministry and the regional fire-rescue service were dispatched to the scene. Seven vehicles were involved.
Firefighters evacuated 12 residents. Fortunately, no one was injured.
By five o'clock the open flames had been extinguished. In one of the one-room apartments the walls, floor, ceiling and belongings were burned. The stair landing was also sooted.
The suspected cause of the fire is the owner's carelessness while cooking on an electric hot plate.
