Russians can choose how to receive benefits until October 1.

      Beneficiaries can choose an in-kind option — the provision of free medicines and medical devices, vouchers to a sanatorium, travel on suburban trains and intercity transport to and from the place of treatment, RIA Novosti reports, citing a document from the Social Fund of Russia. If these services are not needed, one can apply for cash compensation. If all types of support are refused, the payment will amount to 1,728.46 rubles per month.

      The fund clarified that replacements can be full or partial. For example, a citizen may retain the right to sanatorium-resort treatment and free travel while receiving cash compensation for medicines.

      To choose the form of receipt, an application must be submitted by October 1 via the Gosuslugi portal, the Social Fund’s client service, or an MFC. The selected option will take effect at the beginning of next year and will remain in force until a new application is submitted.
