A local resident of the capital of Tatarstan reported to the police that a television was missing from her apartment. The television went missing during the night of September 2 to 3. An investigative and operational team went to the scene: officers seized evidence and questioned the victim.
According to the Kazan branch of the Russian Interior Ministry, the suspect in the television theft was identified and detained in one of the city's hostels: he turned out to be a 31-year-old native of Kirov Oblast.
During questioning the man confessed to the act. He said he had arrived in Kazan about a month earlier, was getting by on temporary jobs, and when he ran out of money decided to commit a crime.
A criminal case has been opened against the man from Kirov under Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). He has been remanded in custody.
