The State Expertise of the Kirov Region has approved the project for the partial major renovation of the building of the Vyatskaya Orthodox Gymnasium. The work will be carried out while preserving the building's historical appearance.
The gymnasium is located at 35 Moskovskaya Street. The first building, known as the Mashkovtsev House, was built in 1799 to a design by architect Filimon Roslyakov. In 1954 the building was rebuilt according to a design by Kirov's chief architect, Nikita Kozlov. Additional floors and a northern wing were added, the facades were altered, and the church's five domes were dismantled.
In 1997 the institution became Secondary School No. 22, and in 2007 an Orthodox gymnasium was opened on its basis. It continues to operate in this building.
