55% of Kirov residents oppose a single sports uniform in schools

After the State Duma discussed the issue of school uniforms, sports clothing for physical education lessons was put on the agenda. However, the idea met with a negative response from city residents: 55% of Kirov residents expressed opposition, while only 24% supported the initiative.

Among parents of schoolchildren opinions were even more sharply divided: 61% against and only 30% in favor. Supporters' arguments mainly concern aesthetics: the uniform, in their view, should be neat, comfortable and decent. Opponents believe that sportswear should be chosen individually for each child, otherwise it could lead to problems with the musculoskeletal system and the skin.

According to the survey, men are more likely than women to oppose the initiative (57% versus 52%). Young people under 35 are also more strongly opposed (64%) than residents over 45 (44%). In addition, among respondents with incomes of 100,000 rubles per month or more there were more dissenters (61%) than among those with lower salaries.
