Recently residents of Slobodskoy District complained of an unpleasant odor and a change in water quality in the area of the specially protected natural territory "Pond Lakes".
On August 12, specialists from the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Kirov Region carried out an on-site inspection. They found the discharge of wastewater from the production sites of the enterprises Zarechye and Zarechye Plus into a stream that flows into the system of lake ponds.
Laboratory tests showed exceedances of permissible levels for a number of pollutants. Since the enterprises fall under federal state environmental supervision, the inspection materials were forwarded to the West Ural Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor.
