Sokolov became the acting Minister of Housing and Utilities of the Komi Republic.

      Recall that in early April 2025 it became known that former Minister of Transport of Kirov Oblast Nikolai Sokolov was moving to work in the government of the Komi Republic as Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services. Sokolov worked in that position for five months — from April to September — and, according to information from the Komi Ministry of Construction’s website, was appointed acting Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services. According to regional media, the decree appointing Sokolov as acting Minister of Housing and Communal Services was signed by the acting head of the republic, Rostislav Goldshtein.

      Sokolov’s professional activity has been connected with the transport sector of Kirov Oblast since 2008. For about four years he led a transport company and headed the road administration “Vyatskiye Avtomobilnye Dorogi” in Slobodskoy. On July 29, 2019, Nikolai Anatolyevich took office as Minister of Transport of Kirov Oblast. However, in October 2021 it became known that he had submitted a resignation “of his own accord,” and in late June 2022 information emerged that Sokolov had left to work in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where he headed the regional Department of Construction, Housing and Utilities, Energy and Transport. Six months later Nikolai took a step down, moving to the position of first deputy head of the department.
