11 people were injured on the railway in Kirov Oblast from May to September.

From May to September 2025 the Kirov branch of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Transport recorded 11 cases of people being injured on the railway. Seven cases occurred while trains were in motion — passengers fell from berths or were scalded by boiling water. Another four incidents were related to violations of safety rules while on railway infrastructure facilities.

The most serious incident occurred in July at Chukhlominsky station. A 20-year-old resident of Kirov climbed onto a tank car of a freight train and was struck by an electric arc of 27,000 volts. The young man suffered burns to 70% of his body and was taken to the Kirov Trauma Center; doctors describe his condition as serious.

In addition, three cases of injury by moving rolling stock were recorded in the current period. One of them occurred on the Luza–Suslovka section: a 39-year-old local man, picking mushrooms, sat down to rest directly on the rails and did not heed auditory warnings. The man was struck by a freight train.

The transport police remind the public that railway tracks may only be crossed via pedestrian bridges, walkways, and level crossings. Walking on the tracks, climbing over car couplers, or crawling under trains is strictly prohibited. It is also dangerous to approach overhead wires and contact network supports.
