Yakushev, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia: The standards for school repair work must not be lowered.

On Knowledge Day, schools built and renovated under the joint program of United Russia and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation will open across the country. Since 2022, 5,602 school buildings have already been modernized under the initiative, and the president’s instruction to build 1,300 new general education institutions was completed ahead of schedule.

At the All‑Russian headquarters, the party and the ministry summed up interim results of the program’s implementation, which from this year also includes kindergartens and colleges in need of major repairs. In 2025, major repairs are planned to be completed in 580 schools, 143 preschools and 78 vocational education institutions. The Secretary of United Russia’s General Council, Vladimir Yakushev, noted that most of the facilities have already passed acceptance inspections thanks to the combined efforts of party members, representatives of the Ministry of Education, parents and teachers. He added that the standard of quality of work carried out in educational institutions must remain high.

“In clean, bright classrooms children develop a greater interest in learning, science and creativity. In halls and on playgrounds equipped with modern facilities they are more inclined to take part in sports. Teachers work differently under comfortable conditions. And schools themselves become growth hubs for villages, settlements and towns,” Vladimir Yakushev emphasized.

In turn, Sergei Kravtsov reminded that the plan for constructing new educational facilities runs until 2030 — during this period regions are to build 150 new schools, 100 kindergartens and 12 advanced schools.

“Already this year the Ministry of Education, together with the regions, will begin construction of 64 schools, 57 kindergartens and five advanced schools. These facilities will be commissioned in 2027,” the minister said.

In addition to upgrading educational infrastructure, United Russia is running patriotic campaigns “Faces of Heroes” and “The Hero’s Desk.” More than 30,000 school desks bearing stories of outstanding compatriots who studied at those specific schools have already been installed nationwide.

“We place emphasis on Heroes of the Great Patriotic War, Heroes of Labor, Heroes of the special military operation. The entire school environment should contribute to a child’s patriotic education. These are our traditional values,” said Alena Arshinova, coordinator of the party project “New School” and deputy head of the party in the State Duma.

According to experts, the joint work of the government, the party and citizens in implementing the presidential program is highly effective. Political scientist Alexey Martynov, director of the Institute of Modern States and an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, noted that control at all stages with the direct involvement of parents and teachers ensures the targeting and quality of the work.

“These projects have a long‑term effect. Modern educational infrastructure is not just ‘bright classrooms’; it is a real growth point for regions, a factor in improving quality of life and an investment in the country’s human capital,” he said.
