On Monday, September 1, 2025, all stores, supermarkets and other retail outlets in Kirov will not be able to sell alcohol. The restriction has been introduced in accordance with regional legislation that prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages on holidays and socially significant days.
At the same time, alcohol may be purchased and consumed on the premises in cafés, restaurants and other catering establishments, but buying it to take away will be prohibited.
Local authorities say the restrictions are necessary to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for schoolchildren and their parents on Knowledge Day, when ceremonial assemblies, mass events and festive gatherings take place.
Residents of Kirov are urged to plan purchases in advance and to be understanding of the temporary restrictions. Violation of the ban will result in legal liability.
